VARANASI: The special operations group (SOG) and Chetganj police on Sunday arrested three criminals who were involved in several cases of loot. The cops recovered a country-made revolver, live cartridges, three bikes, a fake driving licence and Rs 4,000 from their possession.
SP (city) Vijay Bhushan said that acting on a tip off, the cops raided Pishachmochan area where the miscreants had assembled.
The miscreants were identified as Narain alias Raj Yadav, Nikhil Tiwari (both of Badi Piyari area) and Avinash Tripathi of Lahangpura.
During investigation, their involvement in several loot cases came to light. The arrested criminals had used the looted money for establishing a printing press and buying bikes. During interrogation, it also came to light that Avinash was a meritorious student and had secured above 85 per cent marks in CBSC examination of class XII while Nikhil was studying in intermediate. They said that they had joined Raj Yadav to make quick money to fulfil their dreams of having stylish bikes and dresses.
