‘Align with PM’s vision to implement devpt schemes’
Varanasi: Deputy chief minister Keshav Prasad Maurya on Friday assessed progress on development projects and schemes, stressing high standards and teamwork to ensure speedy, transparent, and quality-driven works.
At a review meeting, Maurya emphasized effective implementation of rural development schemes, aligning with PM Narendra Modi's vision of "Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas, Sabka Vishwas and Sabka Prayas".
He said that the state govt is committed to the economic, educational and social uplift of rural people, and all departments should work in coordination to realise the resolve of women empowerment, Aatmanirbhar Bharat and Viksit Bharat.
Laying special emphasis on the empowerment of Self-Help Groups, Maurya directed officials to increase the target of making the group's didis into lakhpati didis from 1 lakh to 3 lakh per year. The chief development officer, Varanasi, informed that 1.48 lakh SHG didis are currently working in the district.
Maurya said that special camps should be organised in gram panchayats to cover eligible divyang and widows under housing schemes. He directed officials to ensure the chief medical officer's presence in camps to verify divyang beneficiaries.
He instructed that ‘baraat ghars' in the district be run by SHGs, providing women with employment opportunities.
Reasonable rent for events should be fixed to ensure smooth operation. Officials were asked to identify sites for ‘baraat ghars' in gram panchayats and get them built using CSR funds.
Maurya directed officials to utilize the current financial year's budget effectively and complete development works on time with quality. He also instructed that proposals under Vidhan Mandal Kshetra Vikas Nidhi be processed within 45 days.
