ABVP exhibition celebrates cultural, national legacy

Gorakhpur: A grand exhibition named after Rashtra Sant Mahant Avaidyanath was inaugurated on Thursday during the Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad's (ABVP) 70th National Convention at Devi Ahilyabai Nagar. The event was graced by Champat Rai, vice president of the Vishwa Hindu Parishad and general secretary of Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra, along with Prof Poonam Tandon, vice chancellor of Deen Dayal Upadhyay Gorakhpur University.
Speaking at the inauguration, Champat Rai commended ABVP's efforts in fostering a sense of national unity. "While the world discusses rights, ABVP inspires a sense of duty among youth across educational campuses. India's young leaders like Swami Vivekananda, Devi Ahilyabai Holkar, and Deendayal Upadhyay showed the way through their selfless service. It's an honor to attend this national convention for the second time," he said, recalling his association with Mahant Avaidyanath and his vision of national integration.
The exhibition showcases Mahant Avaidyanath's contributions to India's Independence struggle and the Ram temple movement, alongside pivotal role of Maharana Pratap Education Council, founded by him in 1932, in reviving Indian education. Key artifacts include archives of India's freedom movement, stories of freedom fighters, and a depiction of Lokmata Ahilyabai's ideal governance system. Indian festivals and cultural heritage are also brought to life through artistic displays.
Prominent among those who attendees were ABVP national vice president M Nagalingam, national secretary Buddhadeb Bagh, welcome committee vice president principal Pradeep Rao, Gorakhpur metropolitan president Vivek Shahi and metropolitan secretary Shubham Govind Rai.
