5 arrested for performing stunts on Purvanchal Expressway

Varanasi: Taking immediate cognizance of a viral video on social media, Mubarakpur police in Azamgarh district on Tuesday arrested five persons for performing stunts, and endangering public safety by obstructing traffic on the Purvanchal Expressway.

The vehicle used in the incident has also been seized under Section 207 of the MV Act and legal proceedings have been initiated.

The arrested individuals were identified as Amman, Naved, Anwar, Rahat Ali, and Danish, all residents of Mubarakpur area.

Mubarakpur police also appealed to the general public to refrain from such activities on expressways and public roads.. “Strict legal action will continue to be taken against those who violate the law for social media popularity,” police said.
