27.3 lakh voters in Varanasi as rolls published
VARANASI: After the final publication of photo electoral rolls of Assembly constituencies on Friday, a total of 27,30,603 voters, including 14,86,874 male, 12,43,611 female and 118 third gender voters, are present in the Varanasi district. It will be available free of cost for public viewing from April 10 to April 16 at the electoral registration officer's office, district election office, concerned tehsil offices and designated locations.
District election officer/district magistrate Satyendra Kumar appealed to all voters of the district to visit the prescribed locations during office hours and inspect the voter list. Voters can also check their names in the voter list by visiting the district website https://varanasi.nic.in/deo-portal.
In compliance with the directions of the Election Commission on India, district election officer/district magistrate held a meeting with representatives of recognized political parties of the district and provided copies of the finally published electoral roll on Friday.
The special intensive revision programme was announced on Oct 27 last year based on the qualifying date (Jan 1, 2026). On Oct 27 last year the total number of voters in the district was 31,53,705, including 16,99,615 males, 14,53,939 females and 151 third genders.
As per the announced programme, between Nov 4, .2025 and Dec 26, 2025, BLOs conducted door-to-door enumeration by providing enumeration forms and collecting them. The draft publication of the voter list was done on Jan 6, .2026, in which the total number of voters was 25,80,502 (male- 14,15,247, female 11,65,145 and third gender 110).
Between Jan 6 to Feb 27 this year, hearings were conducted by 316 additional assistant electoral registration officers at 118 identified locations in the district regarding notices issued to voters with no mapping and logical discrepancies. Claims/objections received between Jan 6 and Mar 6 were disposed of by Mar 27.
Additional district magistrate (administration)/deputy district election officer Bipin Kumar, while providing Assembly-wise information about voters in the finally published voter list, said that in Pindra Assembly constituency, the number of voters at draft publication was 3,22,835. During the revision period 12,090 voters were added, 2,173 voters were deleted and total number of voters in the finally published voter list is 3,32,752.
In Ajgara Assembly constituency, the number of voters at draft publication was 3,31,571. While during the revision period 14524 votes were added, 1,971 were deleted and the total number of voters in the finally published list is 3,44,124.
In Shivpur Assembly constituency, the number of voters at draft publication was 3,42,005. During the revision period 23017 voters were added, 7,015 deleted and total number of voters in the finally published voter list is 3,58,007.
Similarly in Rohaniya Assembly constituency, the number of voters at draft publication was 3,45,289. While 28,521 voters were added during the revision period, 6613 were deleted and the total number of voters in the finally published voter list is 3,67,197.
In Varanasi North Assembly constituency, the number of voters at draft publication was 3,37,228. The number of voters added during the revision period was 37,259, 9447 voters were deleted and total number of voters in the finally published voter list is 3,65,040.
In Varanasi South Assembly constituency, the number of voters at draft publication was 2,43,991, voters added during revision period- 29,153, voters deleted during revision period- 5,446 and total number of voters in the finally published voter list is 2,67,698.
In Varanasi Cantonment Assembly constituency, the number of voters at draft publication was 3,59,288, voters
added during the revision period- 28,392, voters deleted during revision period- 9,722 and total number of voters in the finally published voter list is 3,77,958.
In Sevapuri Assembly constituency, the number of voters at draft publication was 2,98,295, voters added during revision period- 21,283, voters deleted during revision period- 1751 and total number of voters in the finally published voter list is 3,17,827.
In all eight Assembly constituencies of the district, the total number of voters at draft publication was 25,80,502, total voters added during revision period- 19,4239, total voters deleted during revision period- 44,138 and total number of voters in the finally published voter list is 27,30,603.
