2 contractors booked for corruption in road construction
Varanasi: Taking serious note of widespread irregularities in interlocking road construction in the Rampur area of Ramnagar, District Urban Development Agency(DUDA) on Tuesday registered an FIR against two contractors for using substandard material, negligence in development works, and corruption.
It is alleged that the firm not only showed negligence in completing the work on time, but the quality of construction carried out was also found to be extremely poor.
Ramnagar police, on the basis of the complaint, registered a case against the firm’s proprietors, Vinesh Kumar Kushwaha and Ankur Kushwaha, under section 318(1) (cheating) of BNS.
The investigation has been handed over to sub-inspector, Jai Prakash Singh. Police also sent a copy to the district magistrate and municipal commissioner for necessary action.
