VADODARA: The city unit of the
Congress party has demanded a
thorough probe
into the cases of cash seizures in the city after demonetisation. The party alleged that BJP members were being linked to some of these cases.
City Congress unit spokesperson Nilesh Brahmbhatt stated in a release that the city police should form a special team to investigate such cases. He pointed out that it was being widely discussed that those with large amount of cash in invalidated notes were being exchanged to valid currency by middlemen while the common man was suffering.
Brahmbhatt said that the police needed to go into the depth of these cases. He added that the investigations should identify the source of such cash being seized in the city.
