VADODARA: City-based political outfit Jagte Raho Party (JRP) has charged out plans for the ensuing civic polls. Polls for the Vadodara Municipal Corporation (VMC) are scheduled to take place by this year end.
Prafful Desai from JRP said that the party had been registered with the Election Commission of India and the state election commission. He added that while attempts in this regard were made ahead of the 2010 civic polls, they could not fructify in time for the polls.
1x1 polls
JRP had called on persons with clean image to contest the polls even at that stage, but could not make much headway as it had hit the poll arena quite late. The party had put up just one candidate and he managed go get a good number of votes, said Desai.
Desai said that the ruling BJP in VMC was making tall claims and spending a lot on publicity, its promises were hollow. He said that this had been exposed time and again by his NGO Jaagte Raho tht had also taken up a series of issues in public interest over the years.
