VADODARA: The
Children's Day has lightened up the lives of two slum kids. Swati Neepali and Aman Neepali had to leave their education mid-way because of troubles within the family. Now, these kids will get admission in a city-based school and their education expenses will be taken care of.
Individuals from different professions have come together to launch a campaign - 'Masti Ki Paathshaala' - through which education of lesser privileged children will be supported.
The campaign aims to offer character education and services that can help in building self-respect and high competency in young generation. "We launched the campaign on Monday to mark Children's Day. We launched the campaign by supporting education of these two children from slum area of Karelibaug and will now continue supporting education of other children also," says Keyur Patel, who is leading the movement.
Swati and Aman will now get admitted in class VII and class V at Shree Krishna Vidyalaya.
Patel said these children had to leave education because of financial crunch after their father took up to drinking. "But, now that these kids have got admissions, they can get uniforms, books and other things that they require for further education," says Patel, who took help of Pratibha Kushwaha from NGO Saharsh for identifying the needy children.
