Anand: The Institute of Rural Management Anand, the Karnal-based National Dairy Research Institute (

NDRI

) and the Anand Agriculture University (AAU) will launch an integrated five years B Tech in dairy technology and management course next year.

The unique aspect of this course that will be offered to students from next academic year is that that the students will be trained in dairy technology for four years by NDRI and AAU and later undergo one year training in management aspects at IRMA.

“The students will get their management degree from IRMA and their dairy technology degree from NDRI/ AAU,” said professor Harekrishna Misra, chair professor of the Verghese Kurien Centre of Excellence (VKCoE). Kurien’s daughter Nirmala released the brochure of VKCoE in presence of GCMMF’s managing director R S Sodhi as part of function to commemorate Kurien’s birth anniversary.

“We have crafted a road map to set up a Dr Verghese Kurien Knowledge Centre and are working on a project to establish a National Cooperative Database,” said professor Paresh Bhatt, IRMA’s acting director. tnn
