Vadodara: Six days after gangster Mukesh

was shot dead, the cops have detained almost all the suspects in the case.
The police have got hold of
Anil alias
Anthony
, a sharpshooter who was working with Harjani earlier, and detained some persons who were present in the party that the gangster had attended before he was eliminated.
The suspects have been detained by the crime branch and the police is expected to reveal the modus operandi and other details in the next couple of days.
A senior police official said that the investigators are cross verifying information being given by detainees. "We are getting more details from the suspects there are chances of conflicting reports. Someone takes a person's name in connection with the crime but it may not be factual. So we are taking more time to investigate," said the police official.
"The idea is to catch the big fish and get to the root of the crime. We are not in a hurry," the official added.
The police wants to gather strong evidence against the entire gang to ensure that they don't get away with the crime later. Sources in the police department said that the city police chief is supervising the investigations and also interrogating the suspects.
Though the cops have not been able to ascertain exact motive behind the murder, control of liquor business in the region is being considered to be the prime reason.
Harjani was gunned down by two assailants in
Harni
area last week after he walked out of his friend
Pappu Sharma's house. He had been dominating the liquor business in and around the city and was also accused of extortion, murder, attempt to murder and several other crimes.
