VADODARA: Ugly scenes were witnessed near the railway station in Sayajigunj area when officers of the city police arrived there to remove a handcart that was obstructing the movement of traffic from the station. The handcart owners entered into an argument with the police.
Two persons owning handcarts in the area were picked up by the Sayajigung police after the incident.
Police sources said that those running refreshment stalls on handcarts were asked to make way for commuters in the area. However, they entered into an argument with policemen.
After a lot of commotion, when one of them agreed to move and asked others to make space for him, a fisticuff fight took place among two handcart owners. Both the handcart owners were detained by the police and taken to the Sayajigunj police station even as they claimed that they had a stay order from a local court against their ouster.
