Girl attempts suicide after scoring less marks

A 17-year-old girl tried to commit suicide by jumping into Sursagar Lake here on Tuesday afternoon. Priyanka Parmar, a student of Class XI, attempted suicide as she scored less marks in her annual exams.

VADODARA:A 17-year-old girl tried to commit suicide by jumping into Sursagar Lake here onTuesday afternoon. Priyanka Parmar, a student of Class XI, attempted suicide asshe scored less marks in her annual exams.According to the police,Parmar was very upset as she got less marks and feared her parents would scoldher. "She was studying in Kasturba High School in Sankheda and had come here forher vacations. Her father stays near Pratapnagar police station," policesaid.Parmar's parents had left for Mumbai and she was alone at herhouse on Tuesday. She left her house and went towards Sursagar. She jumped intothe lake right opposite from Maharani School. Some passers-by saw her jumpinginto the lake and immediately informed the fire-brigade. "The firebrigade personnel rushed to the spot and rescued her. Parmar has been admittedto SSG Hospital and her condition is reported to be stable," policeadded.
