VADODARA: Three persons lost their mobile phones in different areas of the city within a gap of two hours. A gang looted mobile phones from the victims in Race Course, Ellora Park and Gorwa area. According to the police, the incident happened on Friday evening on busy roads. The gang first struck near Ellora Park when Dr Namrata Sheth was walking on the main road.
Two persons came on a motorbike and the one riding pillion snatched her mobile phone worth Rs 13,160 and fled from the spot at about 7.30pm.
The bikers then targeted an ITI student, Devdeep Joshi who was passing from the road near Income Tax office. Two persons came on a motorbike and snatched his mobile phone worth Rs 12,000. Later the accused targeted Raju Gore in Gorwa at about 9 pm and fled with his mobile phone worth Rs 13,000. The frequent incidents of loots and fake cops have embarrassed the city police that have even formed special squads to track down the accused.
