VADODARA: A gang of about six persons carried out loot in a mobile shop located in a shopping complex in Ranoli on the outskirts of the city. The gang fled with about 21 mobiles and cash worth Rs 61,000. The incident occurred when Ratan Shamaliya was sleeping in the shop late in the night. The shop located in Parimal Park is owned by Sanjay Patel.
The gang broke into the shop between 2 and 3 am and overpowered Ratan.

They threatened him and asked him to not raise alarm. The accused then committed loot of mobiles and cash worth Rs 40,000. They threatened Ratan with life and asked him to be quiet. The gang later fled from the spot.
The police suspects that the gang may be from some other state as the accused were speaking in Hindi. The incident has once again pointed to the lacunae in night patrolling done by the police. The cops have been maintaining that they have stepped up night patrolling in many areas. But such gangs have been committing crime and fleeing with the booty with ease.
