Drunk driver hits car into 3 vehicles

Vadodara: In yet another incident of drunk driving in the city, a car rammed into three vehicles in Gotri area on Thursday morning. Gotri police booked two persons for consuming alcohol and rash driving on a busy road.According to police, Vijay Kumavat was driving the car while Vraj Barot was sitting in the passenger's seat. The car went out of control and first hit an auto-rickshaw, then hit a two-wheeler and a tempo. When the car came to a halt, passers-by pulled the accused duo out of the car and roughed them up.The auto driver and a woman driving the two-wheeler suffered minor injuries. The locals said that both the accused seemed to be in a drunken state. Two tins of beer were also found in the car. Kumavat is a contractor who deals in tiles, while Barot is a native of Petlad.Just a few days ago, a cop was caught driving a car in a drunken state in the Chhani area. The cop, identified as Y H Padhiyar, hit a car and a two-wheeler near Chhani bridge. He was confronted by commuters, and his video went viral on social media. An FIR was registered against Padhiyar, and he was suspended from his duty too.
