'Dushman kahin bhi ho, honk diya jayega': PM Modi assures strong response to every terrorist attack
Prime Minister Narendra Modi, speaking in Kanpur on Friday, delivered a strong message to Pakistan over its support for terrorism. He made it clear that India will respond decisively to every terrorist attack, regardless of who is behind it. “If I say this straight in Kanpuriya, dushman kahin bhi ho honk diya jayega,” he declared.

He warned that India would not be intimidated by “hollow threats of atom bomb”, and decisions would not be made under pressure. PM Modi said, “Pakistan’s state and non-state actors... this game will not work anymore.”

The Prime Minister outlined a clear stance: India will respond to terrorism on its own terms. “Every terrorist attack will be answered strongly. The army will decide how and when to respond,” he said.

Highlighting India’s self-reliance, PM Modi cited Atmanirbhar Bharat and spoke of Operation Sindoor, where Indian weapons, including the BrahMos missile, struck deep into enemy territory. “The world witnessed the power of Make in India,” he said.

He recalled India’s past dependence on foreign nations for defence and stressed that becoming self-reliant was essential for national pride.

Modi also paid tribute to Shubham Dwivedi, a victim of the April 22 Pahalgam terror attack, saying the outrage of India's daughters had fuelled Operation Sindoor.

A new elevated rail corridor, addressing decades-old commuter issues, is now set to be built.

PM Narendra Modi said, "From Lucknow, there will now be direct connectivity via the Purvanchal Expressway. The Kanpur-Lucknow Expressway will also be linked to the Ganga Expressway. This will save both distance and time while traveling to the eastern and western parts of the state. Until now, the people of Kanpur have faced difficulties due to the single line in the Farrukhabad-Anwarganj section. You had to struggle with not one or two, but eighteen railway crossings—sometimes one gate was closed, sometimes another. You've long been demanding relief from this problem. PM Modi Uttar Pradesh Visit Live: Transforming Kanpur’s infrastructure and connectivity
Prime Minister Narendra Modi reflected on Kanpur’s past challenges, describing how areas like Chunni Ganj, Bada Chauraha, Naya Ganj, and the city center were once overwhelmed with congestion, chaos, and inadequate infrastructure. He noted that Kanpur and other major cities in Uttar Pradesh had fallen behind in development, with worsening traffic and slowing progress, despite their great potential.

PM Narendra Modi stated, "Remember how people used to talk about Kanpur—areas like Chunni Ganj, Bada Chauraha, Naya Ganj, Kanpur city center—so crowded, full of chaos, traffic issues, lack of modern infrastructure and planning. People used to say, 'How can projects like the Metro ever happen here? How can any big transformation occur?' In a way, Kanpur and other major cities in UP were left behind in the race for development. Traffic problems worsened, and the pace of the city slowed. The cities in UP, despite their immense potential, lagged in progress..."

PM Narendra Modi says, "...The UP where people avoided going out after evening now sees 24-hour travel on highways. Who better understands how UP has transformed than the people of Kanpur. Very soon, the travel time from Kanpur to Lucknow via expressway will be just 40-45 minutes..."
