Cong president’s cousin joins BJP

Vadodara/ Anand: Prashant Chavda, cousin brother of Gujarat Congress president Amit Chavda, joined BJP on Wednesday.

Prashant is also cousin of former union minister and former president of Gujarat Pradesh Congress Committee Bharatsinh Solanki, son of Gujarat’s former chief minister late Madhavsinh Solanki.

Prashant formally joined BJP during opening of party’s ward office for the forthcoming Borsad Nagarpalika elections.

Prashant’s father Jashwant Chavda was the eldest son of Congress’ late veteran Ishwar Chavda. Amit Chavda is son of Ishwar Chavda’s second son Ajit Chavda. Sources said that family relations between the duo has strained since quite some time now.
