CII organizes state-level kaizen contest

Keeping up with its theme of 'building competitiveness', the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) organized its best kaizen competition 2016 for the year 2016-2017 on Friday.

VADODARA: Keeping up with its theme of 'building competitiveness', the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) organized its best kaizen competition 2016 for the year 2016-2017 on Friday.
Kaizen involves setting standards and continuously improving productivity, quality, safety, delivery and morale of the workforce leading to a reduction of maintenance and manufacturing cost.

Over 40 teams from Gujarat participated for this competition. Companies from various sectors like textile, pharmaceuticals, engineering, cement, dairy, food processing and chemicals made presentations on the Kaizen initiatives made in their facilities before a panel of judges.
Tata Motors Limited was declared as the winner by the judges while Apollo Tyres Limited and Polycab Wires Private Limited were adjudged as first and second runner up.
