CAM to felicitate Dr Amrita Patel

Vadodara/ Anand: The Charutar Arogya Mandal (CAM), the trust that manages the 800-bed Shree Krishna Hospital and the Pramukhswami Medical College in Karamsad town of Anand district will felicitate Dr Amrita Patel for her contribution to public service.

Infosys Limited’s founder N R Narayana Murthy will be the chief guest at the function that will be held on December 10 at Karamsad to celebrate the 75th birth anniversary of the Padma Bhushan recipient. Patel, the former chairman of the Anand-headquartered National Dairy Development Board (NDDB) has just stepped down as CAM’s chairman. She will be felicitated for her outstanding leadership and incomparable contribution towards the betterment of health, income and welfare of the less privileged, especially the rural people. Patel headed CAM, the mandal was established in 1972 by her father and former union finance and home minister Dr H M Patel, since 1993. Patel is not only the first woman veterinarian of Gujarat but was also the first lady officer of Amul Dairy, the first woman managing director and later the first woman chairman of NDDB and the first woman on the board of directors of the International Dairy Federation.
