Parmar went to seek the keys of the village crematorium at accused Nimesh Patel's house. Patel, who belonged to an upper caste, allegedly abused Parmar and used derogatory words regarding his caste.
According to the complaint, Patel refused to provide the keys of the crematorium to Parmar and said that he had no rights to cremate his uncle's body at the village crematorium as it belonged to the upper caste Patels. Parmar has accused Patel of deliberately stalling the last rites of his uncle's body. The body was eventually cremated on the roadside near the cremation ground.
