Baroda boys win G-1 one day tourney

Vadodara: Baroda boys won in the G-1 one-day tournament that was played from September 5 to September 8 at Ahmedabad. This is the first major tournament that the team has won under the mentorship of former India player Munaf Patel. The tourney was organized jointly by BCA, GCA and SCA.

In the final on Sunday, Gujarat was all out for 192 runs in 48.4 overs. Manpreet Juneja scored 41 runs while Khshitij Patel made 32 runs. For Baroda, Rishi Arothe bagged four wickets while Swapnil got three scalps. Baroda reached the target in 49.2 overs for the loss of nine wickets.

Sukrit Pandey scored 66 runs off 83 balls while Kedar Devdhar scored 56 off 72 balls to help Baroda win the finals.
