Vadodara: The Maharaja Sayajirao University (MSU) has disbursed Rs 39.24 lakh under the Student Startup and Innovation Policy (SSIP) 2.0 to support student-led innovation and intellectual property initiatives.
The funding covers 19 proof-of-concept (PoC) projects and 17 proposals for intellectual property rights (IPR) filings, aimed at promoting entrepreneurship and research-driven innovation among students.
Of the total amount, Rs 28.37 lakh has been allocated for PoC projects and Rs 10.86 lakh for IPR proposals. In the first phase, 40% of the sanctioned funds has already been released to ensure timely execution of projects.
MSU vice-chancellor Prof Bhalchandra Bhanage handed over sanction letters to student innovators and encouraged them to turn their ideas into solutions that benefit society and contribute to national development.
SSIP coordinator Prashant R Murumkar said the initiative will strengthen the university's innovation ecosystem and motivate students to pursue translational research, technology development and intellectual property creation.
