3-yr RI to six in Padra rioting case

VADODARA: Additional sessions judge SJ Sheth on Wednesday sentenced six persons of one family to three years of rigorous imprisonment in a five-year-old rioting case of Padra.
Court sources said a verbal spat between an electronics showroom owner located at Niraj Plaza complex and Plaza's second floor residents, Suresh Jani and his family, had resulted in a fight on January 28, 2004.
Jani, his wife Usha along with son Chirag had attacked Jayant and Natwar Patel of Jalaram Electronics with lethal weapons severely injuring them. Janis had then set a readymade garments shop next to electronics showroom on fire as well.
Padra police had registered an offence against Jani, Usha, Chirag, Chirag's wife Asha, along with associates Mehul Rawal and Kiran Parmar.
