His wife and two children have also been tested positive for swine flu but their condition is stable. “I have not gone out of the city and I do not know from where I got the infection,” the police officer told ToI.
Other policemen of the police station who were in touch with the officer were administered Oseltamivir tablets by the health department officials, a police official of the police station confirmed.
He said that no other policeman in the police station is suffering from swine flu.
Till August 1, there were only eight swine flu cases reported since January 2017, but it increased to 26 in just a week. A health department official said that at least six persons have been undergoing treatment in hospitals attached to government-run RNT medical college.
The health department has conducted a survey of the areas where cases of swine flu were reported. To prevent it from spreading to other persons an alert has been issued as increased numbers of patients were reported in the past seven days.
In summers, the epicentre of swine flu was Jaipur. In the city, more than 226 persons have already been tested positive for swine flu in 2017 so far. The cases reported in summers came as a shock for health authorities as it was not a normal trend of the disease. In April 148 cases and in May 177 swine flu cases were reported in the state. In every month, cases of swine flu are now constantly being reported. In June 27 cases, in July 28 cases and in August more than 25 cases of swine flu have already been detected.
