Trichy: NTK chief coordinator
Seeman announced on Saturday that he would contest from the Karaikudi assembly constituency in the the upcoming election.
Addressing the party's state conference in Trichy, Seeman attacked DMK, AIADMK, BJP and Congress, calling them ‘one and the same', and alleged that they failed to safeguard the interest of
Tamil Nadu.
Seeman said the policies introduced by both national parties were identical and did not address the concerns of the state. "I do not stand on the shoulders of others to show that I am taller. I stand alone," he said.
Seeman took up several issues, including the demand of part-time teachers for equal pay, the grievances of govt employees and nurses, and the struggles faced by farmers and weavers. Referring to recent protests, he said farmers who once sowed seeds in paddy fields were now forced to agitate on roads.
On the Cauvery water dispute, Seeman questioned the Centre's commitment to national unity and justice, alleging that Tamil Nadu's rights were being ignored. He warned that if the state continued to be denied its share of Cauvery water, both Congress and the BJP would face rejection from Tamil voters.
