Two arrested in Trichy for creating ruckus in eatery

Trichy: Woraiyur police have arrested two men on charges of creating a ruckus in an eatery and assaulting an employee over demanding a seat to dine in.Police identified the accused as Abbas alias Balakumar, 32, and M Baranikumar, 32, both hailing from Woraiyur. On Monday, at around 11.30pm, the two men approached the eatery situated on Nachiyarkoil Road for dinner. The eatery was reportedly full at that time. Subsequently, employees insisted on the duo to wait for five minutes. However, a verbal altercation broke out between the men and the employees over finding a seat. In a fit of rage, Balakumar, a history-sheeter, broke a glass pane in the eatery with his helmet and slapped one of the employees identified as M Iqbal, 32. Based on a complaint lodged by the eatery owner, Woraiyur police on Tuesday evening arrested the duo.
