Trichy woman riding scooter loses her gold chain to snatchers

Trichy: Two motorcycle-borne men snatched a gold chain of a 27-year-old woman riding her scooter near Thirumalai Samuthiram in Trichy on Wednesday.
In her complaint to Manikandam police on Friday, A Pauline, from Mullipatti in Trichy, recounted that she was travelling on her scooter near Thirumalai Samuthiram on Olaiyur-Mullipatti road around 8pm on Wednesday when the culprits snatched a portion of her gold chain weighing seven grams.
Police registered a case and collected footage of CCTV cameras in the area where the incident took place. Police said footage shows the culprits on a bike, but the registration number of the motorcycle is yet to be identified.
Chain-snatching incidents have been a concern in the city and rural areas, with snatchers mainly targeting lone women during evening hours.
