Trichy duo caught with prescription drugs

Trichy: Trichy city police arrested two people including a notorious history-sheeter from Pandamangalam on Thursday for possessing prescription drugs intended for intoxication. Woraiyur police arrested P Manikandan, a notorious rowdy, and his accomplice T Jega alias Jegadeeswaran, both 24, along with 20 analgesic tablets and three syringes. Police conducted a raid in Pandamangalam based on a complaint that two men were selling the tablets to customers including children, and found the duo with the illicit drugs.A case was registered against the suspects under BNS (Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances) Act, the Drugs and Cosmetics Act of 1940, and Juvenile Justice (JJ) Act. Both of them were arrested and produced before a court.
