Trichiites launch pot challenge to feed birds in summer

Trichy: Encouraging residents to support animals and birds amid the sultry summer season, Trichiites have launched a ‘pot challenge', a contest promoting residents to fill water in earthen pots for birds and animals. Competitions for best photographs and best food and water arrangements were announced in the event organised by TOSS charitable trust, NGOs and residents welfare association at Sundaraj Nagar park on Sunday.During the competition period which is to go on till June 30, residents will place earthen pots filled with water and food on the terrace of their houses or in public places for birds and animals. The QR code to participate in the contests has been provided to residents through WhatsApp groups. Participants can submit their entries on both categories to the email ID team@tosstheworld.org. "As the summer heat is too intense, birds and animals deprived of water and food can be supported through the initiative," V N R Sribalaji, an organizer said.
