Silambattam, rally, Rangoli held to promote voting awareness
Trichy: The Trichy district administration's election office conducted various voter awareness activities at Chathiram bus stand and Thennur Uzhavar Sandhai on Tuesday to educate voters on the importance of casting their vote in the upcoming assembly election.The activities were conducted as part of Systematic Voters' Education and Electoral Participation (SVEEP) awareness campaign to promote 100% voter turnout in all nine assembly constituencies in Trichy district.District election officer and district collector V Saravanan along with commissioner of police N Kamini inaugurated the events. The events included drawing Rangoli with voter awareness messages, Silambattam performances, and a voter awareness rally.As part of these efforts, members of women self-help groups and anganwadi workers from the integrated child development services scheme drew colourful Rangoli designs with slogans urging 100% polling near Thennur Uzhavar Sandhai, thereby spreading voter awareness.Additionally, on behalf of the district sports office, a voter awareness event featuring Silambattam performances and a rally was organised. More than 200 participants took part.
Participants carried placards with voter awareness slogans and created awareness while marching.Following this, voter awareness stickers with messages were affixed on buses and pamphlets were distributed to passengers at Chathiram bus stand. A giant awareness balloon with the slogan "Voting is everyone's democratic duty — Let us all ensure 100% voting" was also released.
