Sangita Vachaspati awards presented to artistes

Trichy: SASTRA Satsangh associated with SASTRA University in Thanjavur presented the SASTRA Satsangh Sangita Vachaspati Awards to eminent artistes at a ceremony held in Chennai on Sunday.Bharatanatyam danseuse and Acharya Roja Kannan, Veena performer S N Ramesh, and Nadaswaram musician S R G S Mohandas received the awards for their outstanding contributions to Bharatanatyam, Carnatic music, and Nadaswaram respectively.Sudha Seshayyan, the 2022 Sangita Vachaspati Awardee, presented the awards in an event attended by music and art enthusiasts. The three artistes received their award plaques along with a cash prize of 1 lakh each.The Sangita Vachaspati Awards have been presented every year since 2021 to honour exemplary contributions in Carnatic music, performing arts, and traditional arts.
