Trichy: As a part of the systematic voters' education and electoral participation (SVEEP) drive, the Perambalur district administration on Monday released a voter awareness video created using artificial intelligence (AI) tools. Perambalur district collector, also the election officer, N Mirunalini has penned the lyrics for the awareness video, while the music was composed by the govt music school's teachers and students.
The awareness song, ‘Therthal Naal Nerungiduchu Thayaar Aagunga' (polling date has neared, gear up), was released by a senior citizen, two people with disability, a transgender person, and a first-time voter. The AI video urges the public not to travel to other places without exercising their votes on April 23.
It also urged voters to carry valid ID proofs and be aware of their exact polling booth to cast their votes.
Students and teachers of the Perambalur Govt Music School used traditional musical instruments to write a catchy tune for the song. Officials said the video song will be played on LED screens in public places such as markets and bus stands to maximise voter turnout in the district. The awareness video is also being shared through social media platforms among self-help group women to reach the rural population.
