Trichy: A 13-year-old boy was killed in a road accident after the two-wheeler on which he rode pillion was hit by another two-wheeler near Thathaiyangarpettai town in Trichy on Friday night. The minor boy's father and elder brother were injured.
Police identified the deceased as P Mohith, from Aalathudaiyanpatti near Thuraiyur. He was studying Class VII in a govt school. He, along with his father, T Pavan, 40, and brother, P Vasanthakumar, 14, were travelling on the Mettupalayam to Thathaiyangarpettai state highway near Oorudaiyapatti junction, when a two-wheeler approaching the junction collided with Pavan's two-wheeler from the side.
All three were thrown off the bike and sustained severe injuries. Mohith was seriously injured and was brought to Morupatti primary health centre, where he was declared dead on arrival. The victim's father and brother are admitted to Thuraiyur govt hospital. Thathaiyangarpet police registered a case and arrested S Premnath, 34, of Uthandampatti near Musiri for causing the accident.
