IT officials, flying squad conduct search in Karur

Karur: Officials from the income tax department, along with the election flying squad, conducted a search at a house near Kadaparai, in Kuppuchipalayam under the Karur assembly constituency on Tuesday.The team from Chennai inspected the residence following inputs about the storage of gift items without proper documentation. The house falls under the jurisdiction of the Vengamedu police station.According to sources, the search was carried out at the residence of R Senthilkumar, 47. The search began around 7.30am and concluded by 8.15am. Officials verified documents and checked for any materials that could be linked to inducements ahead of the election. However, no items were found during the inspection and nothing was seized, sources said.
