Intensify grassroots outreach ahead of poll: Udhayanidhi
Karur: Deputy chief minister Udhayanidhi Stalin on Monday held a closed-door meeting with DMK cadres in Karur, urging party functionaries to intensify grassroots outreach ahead of the upcoming electoral push.According to sources, the deputy chief minister instructed members of the youth wing to carry out an extensive door-to-door campaign across the western zone for the next one month.Earlier in the day, Udhayanidhi held consultative meetings with outh wing functionaries in Coimbatore and Erode, covering cadres from Coimbatore, the Nilgiris, Namakkal and Erode districts. He later addressed another meeting in Karur involving youth wing members from Karur.Speaking at the meeting, sources said he urged cadres to directly engage with the public at the grassroots level, highlighting the welfare schemes and developmental initiatives implemented during the DMK govt five-year tenure under the "Dravidian Model." He also called on cadres to actively seek public support to secure a renewed mandate.Criticising the National Democratic Alliance (NDA), Udhayanidhi alleged that the alliance had "betrayed Tamil Nadu" and described it as an entity "assembled in Delhi." He appealed to party workers to work relentlessly to ensure the continuation of governance under what he termed "Dravidian Model 2.0." Among those present at the meeting was Karur MLA V Senthil Balaji, along with other youth wing functionaries from the region.
