Vacant posts in govt schools to be filled soon: Minister
Trichy: School education minister Anbil Mahesh Poyyamozhi on Saturday said that all vacant teacher posts in govt schools will be filled soon.
Talking to reporters here on Saturday, the minister said the appointment of more than 3,000 BT (Bachelor of Teaching) assistant teachers is pending after the certificate verification process as a non-teaching staff union has approached the court demanding priority in appointments. "We have conducted exams for second-grade teachers as well and the results are out. Soon, the eligible candidates will receive appointment letters," he said.
"The number of children joining the govt schools is increasing every year. So, we understand the necessity to fill vacant teacher posts in govt and govt-aided schools across the state," he added.
Earlier, the minister received petitions from the public during an event in the Ponmalai area in the Thiruverumbur constituency.
