Four sovereign gold ornaments looted

TRICHY: Burglars struck a locked house and made away with

four

sovereigns of

gold ornaments

in Edamalaipattipudhur in Trichy.

The incident occurred at the residence of Raja Soundarapandian, 53 at State Bank Colony in E Pudur. He is a faculty at government arts and science college in Aranthangi in Pudukottai district.

The burglary came to light when Raja and his family returned home on Tuesday morning. The family had gone to Chennai for a family function on January 25 and the house had remained locked for a few days.

On return, they found the main door of the house broken and four sovereigns of gold ornaments missing.

Based on a complaint given by him, the E Pudur police visited his house and registered a case.

Police sources said that they verified the footage of the CCTV camera near his house and found a masked man involved in the burglary.

They were also planning to check the footage of CCTV cameras in the area to identify the burglar.
