Man electrocuted while draining rainwater at construction site
Trichy: A 42-year-old man was electrocuted while draining rainwater from an under-construction house at K Kallikudi near Ramji Nagar in Trichy on Sunday.The deceased, identified as K Ramamoorthy from K Kallikudi, was rushed to a private hospital by his relatives but was declared dead on arrival.According to police, Ramamoorthy was building a new house and visited the site on Sunday morning. Noticing rainwater stagnating in a basement pit, he attempted to pump it out using an electric motor. He suffered a fatal electric shock, reportedly caused by a short circuit, and collapsed.Following a complaint from Ramamoorthy's brother, K Subramani, 43, Ramji Nagar police have launched an investigation. The body has been sent to Mahatma Gandhi Memorial Government Hospital (MGMGH) for post-mortem examination, and a case of unnatural death has been registered.
