Trichy: DMK has postponed its 12th state-level conference in Trichy from Mar 8 to Mar 9. Municipal administration minister K N Nehru and district level functionaries inspected the conference site at Siruganur on Tuesday.Party sources said the conference was put off to avoid overlapping with Samayapuram Mariamman temple's Poochorithal festival, which attracts thousands of devotees from other districts. Around 500 acres of private land was chosen, and preliminary work is underway for the meet titled ‘Stalin Thodarattum, Tamil Nadu Vellattum' (Let Stalin Continue, Let Tamil Nadu Win). Around 10 lakh cadres are expected to attend.

DMK sources said roads are planned within the venue for the chief minister to approach the cadres and functionaries. "Food for at least 3 lakh cadres will be prepared. The entry point will be 1,000 feet wide," a party source said. Nehru, along with mayor Mu Anbalagan inspected the cleaning and levelling process at the site.
