Diwali rush: TNSTC, SETC operating 340 special buses to and fro Trichy

TRICHY: Tamil Nadu State Transport Corporation (

) and State Express Transport Corporation (

SETC

) are running 340

special buses

to and fro

Trichy

in view of the Diwali rush.

SETC officials here said 14 special buses connecting Chennai with Trichy have been witnessing good reception from the public.

TNSTC sources said 211 special buses connecting Chennai with Trichy zone have been operated for the past three days. Each bus is used to operate multiple services.

Officials said Madurai and Thanjavur destinations were provided with 50 and 30 special buses respectively.

“Presently we are witnessing more incoming crowd to Trichy than outgoing. The pattern would change after the festival concludes,” a senior official with TNSTC regional office here said.

The buses would be operated for a few more days after Diwali, they said.

SETC is operating special services to and fro Bengaluru, Tirupati, Thiruvananthapuram and Ooty.

TNSTC officials said passengers from Trichy, Ariyalur and Perambalur districts can contact grievance redressal cell at 0431-2415551 if they face any issue relating to the service.
