Bus driver suffers heart attack while driving, dies

Karur: A 40-year-old private bus driver died after a heart attack near Kulithalai in Karur district on Friday. Feeling discomfort, he steered the vehicle to the roadside and brought it to a halt before his condition worsened.The deceased, Manoj, was driving the bus on the Karur–Trichy route on Kumaramangalam Road when he fell unwell. Passengers onboard rushed to assist him, offering water and calling for help. Unable to remain seated, Manoj lay atop the engine compartment and alerted a relief driver. A video clip of the incident was circulated widely on social media.Manoj was later taken to the Kulithalai govt hospital where he died on the same night. Doctors said Manoj suffered a heart attack.
