Anbil takes part in auto rickshaw rally seeking votes
Trichy: After riding a two-wheeler and boarding a public bus seeking votes, school education minister Anbil Mahesh Poyyamozhi, as a part of his election campaign in Thiruverumbur assembly constituency in Trichy, participated in an auto rickshaw rally near Bhel factory on Saturday. Clad in a khaki shirt, the DMK candidate rode an auto rickshaw with his party workers. Around 50 auto rickshaws participated in the rally, and the minister sought support from the factory trade unions and auto rickshaw drivers to re-elect him to the assembly. Stickers were also affixed to auto rickshaws displaying support for the minister. The rally passed through several areas of the constituency including Trichy-Thanjavur NH. Later in a meeting, the minister highlighted key points of DMK's election manifesto such as doubling financial assistance under the Kalaignar Mahalir Urimai Thittam (KMUT) scheme from Rs 1,000 to Rs 2,000 per beneficiary per month.
