ERODE/CHENNAI: AIADMK general secretary Edappadi K Palaniswami on Saturday launched a vitriolic attack on his former cabinet colleague K A Sengottaiyan who had accused him of "crawling like a python" to seize the CM's chair. At a rally in Gobichettipalayam, Palaniswami warned Sengottaiyan to mind his words or face the consequences. "I have ample evidence against you (Sengottaiyan). If I make it public, you will not be able to walk freely on the road," he said. When Sengottaiyan was made a minister, his wife and son personally complained to then CM Jayalalithaa against him, Palaniswami said, adding "Amma (Jayalalithaa) herself said it was a mistake to keep him in the party. She had never received such a complaint against any other member." Sengottaiyan cried and pleaded before him for a berth in the cabinet, Palaniswami said, adding, "I regret accommodating him."The leader said Sengottaiyan had betrayed AIADMK and its legacy. "He has become DMK's B-team," he said and urged voters to reject Sengottaiyan's politics. Later in the day, EPS took to social media to hit out at chief minister M K Stalin for "blindly opposing" the delimitation bill. "TN has lost the golden opportunity given by PM Modi to get 50% more seats," he said. "If delimitation had been done based on 2011 census, the state would have lost nine MP seats. Because of your mindless opposition, the delimitation will now be based on 2026 census, and we will lose even more seats," he said in a post.
