TRICHY: The district recorded a 98% pass in the Class 12 CBSE examination as per the results announced on Monday. Out of the 90 students who took the exams in the district 89 passed. The sole student who failed will be taking the compartment exams, said school authorities.
It was only the two Kendriya Vidayalayas in the district that had students for the class XII CBSE final examination.

Thought these schools had put up cent percent pass in recent years, this year they fell short of the mark due to tough exam standards, said school authorities.
While the Kendriya Vidyalaya at Ordnance Factory campus recorded 100% pass, one student failed in the the second school at the HAPP Township. Balakrishna AV with 476 marks is the district topper among the 90 students. He secured 95 in all subjects except for English in which he scored 93, said school principal Singaram. The second place went to S Aravind 475 from the same school. They belonged to the computer science stream.
As two boys topped the list, girl student Anjalika Sharma of KV HAPP campus came third in the district with 474 marks. With biology as her major she aspires to become a doctor.
Singaram said that the school had all three streams.
The HAPP campus which offered only the biology group saw Santhosh scoring 457 and Aishwarya scoring 451 marks. The school authorities refused to give detailed results with principal Alagendi refusing to speak.
