AIADMK man held for comments defaming CM

Karur: An IT wing office-bearer of AIADMK was arrested in Karur on Saturday for circulating defamatory and objectionable content against chief minister M K Stalin on social media.The accused, Pasupathi Senthil, vice-president of AIADMK Erode zone social media unit, is a resident of Velayudhampalayam in Karur. According to a complaint lodged at Velayudhampalayam police station, Senthil had shared a video mocking welfare schemes of the govt, including breakfast scheme for sanitation workers. There were defamatory remarks against Karur MLA V Senthilbalaji, linking him to the Karur stampede. A case was registered and Senthil was arrested on Saturday. He was produced before a judicial magistrate, who remanded him to 15 days.
