7.1 lakh families to be surveyed under dream scheme in Trichy

Trichy: Municipal administration minister K N Nehru and school education minister Anbil Mahesh Poyyamozhi on Friday launched the ‘Unga Kanava Sollunga' (tell your dreams) scheme in Trichy. Around 7.1 lakh families will be surveyed to record their aspirations through 1,433 field workers appointed across the district from Jan 10 to Jan 30.Around 5.1 lakh families in rural areas and two lakh families in urban areas will be surveyed. As many as 576 supervisors were appointed to oversee the survey. Volunteers were appointed from women self-help groups.The volunteer will provide an application to each family. The document shall include a list of schemes and projects launched by the state govt. Volunteers will visit the house two days later to collect the forms.Officials said volunteers were provided with mobile phones with internet. Applications collected will be digitised, and families will be provided with cards as acknowledgement. Officials said the scheme would serve as a yardstick to analyse the reach of various schemes of the state govt in the past five years and assist policy makers to draft new schemes based on public expectations.
