3 TVK women cadre booked for abusing cop on duty

Trichy: Trichy airport police booked three unidentified women cadres of Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam (TVK) for creating a ruckus and deterring a public servant from discharging his duties.The incident was reported during actor-politician TVK leader Vijay's campaign-cum-road show in Trichy on April 19 (Sunday evening). According to a complaint by SSI Arasu, attached to Cantonment traffic police unit, three unidentified women approached RS Puram junction on a two-wheeler. When the SSI stopped them and asked them to use an alternate road since the area was partially closed, the three women abused him in obscene language. A video of the incident went viral on social media platforms, prompting police to act. A case was registered under Sections 296(b), 132 of BNS (obscene act).
