THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: An elderly man from the United States, who was found by the Kerala police in Kovalam last November, passed away on Monday morning. Irvin Fox (77) was being looked after by Pallium India in the state capital.
Fox was found by the police at a hotel in the beach town of Kovalam, tired and starving, writhing in pain and covered in bedsores, said officials of Pallium India.
With the help of the social justice department, the police contacted Pallium India, a charity organization with expertise in palliative care, to take him under their care.
Since he did not have the required papers for his consulate to repatriate him, he was admitted to Pallium India’s palliative clinic. Fox had been living in Kerala for the last 10 years. He reportedly had an accidental fall at the hotel after which he became immobile.
