Trupti Desai firm on enteringSabari temple

Kochi: Trupti Desai, founder of Bhumata Brigade, a Pune-based social activist organization, who has announced that she would visit Sabarimala on Friday, said that the seven-member group, including her, was determined to enter the temple with or without police protection. “The onus of providing security to us en route Sabarimala is on the Kerala chief minister. Maharashtra police have promised security for the team in Maharashtra. But we have not heard from the Kerala CM or the DGP. We are determined to reach Sabarimala. We will land in Kochi on Friday,” said Desai.

The Bhumata Brigade members have decided to enter the temple on Saturday. “We will not return until we get to enter the temple and offer prayers,” said Desai.

“We have not sought any special privileges. But since there is a threat to our life, we sought police protection. If anything happens to us, then the Kerala CM will be responsible,” she added.
